This math class is designed to keep math skills sharp for upper elementary students.  They will work with complex problems, reinforce math facts (including fraction work, percentages, and long division), take timed tests for practice, and use manipulatives to ensure understanding of concepts.  Aligned with Common Core standards, campers will work collaboratively as well as individually to foster their command of mathematical thinking. This course will rely on the previous day’s experiences, therefore, campers should plan to attend every class meeting in a session to get the most out of their experience. 

 

Campers are welcome to take both Part I and II of this class but are also welcome to take either of the sessions alone. 

 

Nikki Spatcher, local SRVUSD elementary school teacher, is a veteran in the classroom and is a long-time member of our summer staff.  She brings fun and her love of learning to the classroom each day.
