College Counseling

We offer a comprehensive college counseling program devoted to developing in our students the confidence and skills required to meet the complexities of their futures.  The Athenian college counseling team offers a program that promotes self-exploration, goal-setting and portfolio building. With a 30:1 student to counselor ratio, Athenian students begin working with a counselor at the end of their 10th grade year.

In an ever-changing college admission environment, we are here to stay up on the latest trends and offer sound guidance to our students, including bringing colleges to our campus to share the incredible breadth of options available (We host more than 120 college admission officers on our campus every year).

We hope the information here helps answer questions you might have whether you are considering attending Athenian or preparing to start the college process.

Our Program:

While our 9th grade students and families are provided introduction to our team and program in their first year, we encourage students to focus on a happy and successful transition to high school. Our more formal program begins in 10th grade.

  • For College Representatives

Thank you for your interest in visiting Athenian in Fall of 2024.  We have two options available to you, both of which can be scheduled using Maia Visits.

    COLLEGE NIGHTS:
    • Arrival and set-up 5:45 PM
    • Dinner & Program 6:00 PM - 9:00 PM
These evening programs typically draw 80 students/parents on average, providing an excellent opportunity to connect with more of our students and families in a meaningful way.  If one of these dates is an option for you, we encourage you to join us for a College Night in lieu of a day visit.  The evening will include dinner, a panel presentation, Q&A, and a college fair format to wrap up the evening.  You can sign up by using Maia Visits starting in late summer.

Although we encourage you to take advantage of our college night programs, if one of these dates does not fit into your travel schedule, you are welcome to schedule a day visit (in-person or virtual).

Please only schedule a College Night OR Day Visit, not both.

If you have questions, please contact College Counseling at rmoscato@athenian.org
