Upper School March Term embodies the core elements of Athenian’s philosophy of experiential education, shared inquiry, and engaged learning. March Term courses are opportunities for students to do a “deep dive” into one course over three weeks and receive a semester’s worth of credit. The Term culminates with a fair where students come together and share learnings and reflections. Regular classes pause during March Term.
Course offerings change from year-to-year, providing new selections for students and opportunities for teachers to innovate and showcase their many expertise. Often, courses involve travel–every year there are a few international trips–or a service component. See sample course catalog to the right.
