Classic Sports Camp provides a wide array of sports classes during four, two week sessions of fun, athletic skills, and excitement in a beautiful setting. We are located on 75 acres at the base of Mt. Diablo.  Sports classes are ideal for boys and girls of all skill levels. It’s not necessary to have sports experience to have fun and learn new skills. Our dynamic staff is committed to teaching a variety of sports, while providing a fun, safe, and nurturing environment.  The Sports Program Director is Marc Trapani, who is in his 6th year with DMSC and has been an elementary school classroom teacher for fourteen years.

Classic Sports Camp is designed to expose campers to a variety of conventional as well as nonconventional sports. On distinctly hot summer days we provide alternate indoor activities, as well as additional water activities. It is our goal to make each session a unique and special experience in the classic sports camp choice.

Open Pool Time is offered each session during Period C. If you register for Full Day or PM Camp, your camper will need to bring a swimsuit, towel, and sunscreen. Our head lifeguard supervises all activities at the pool. In addition, to four certified lifeguards supervise swimmers. Our Sports Program Director and counselors also supervise at the pool. We maintain a 15:1 (or fewer) campers-to-lifeguard ratio, exceeding the American Red Cross standard. Parents are always welcome to attend pool time.

For an additional fee, private swim lessons may be taken in conjunction with Classic Sports Camp. A camp counselor will escort your child to his or her scheduled lesson, and then after the lesson is completed, return them to camp.  Look for “Private Swim Lessons” when registering online.
You may register for all four sessions, one session, or to get the best of both worlds and alternate between Sports Camp Classes, Summit Seekers and Enrichment Classes.

Every Friday, field trips are offered to Full Day and AM Campers. You will be sent an email prior to a field trip. Campers attending the field trip will need a brown bag lunch on field-trips days. Parents are welcome to attend. Campers are provided a bright camp tee-shirt that must be worn on field trip days. Unless otherwise noted, children will return from all field trips no later than 3:30 pm and are usually back in time for pool time. Therefore, be sure to pack a swimsuit/towel, and sunscreen on field trip days. We maintain a 1:8 ratio of counselor to campers on trips.
